Hi! My name is Kayla. Welcome to Tiny Inklings. This is my little space that I get to share lovely things that I find, make, and that inspire me. I started blogging back in December of 2009 at the same time I started my shop on Etsy. This blog started out as a way for me to share the things that were happening within my shop and studio, but has grown into a place where I can post things that inspire me as well as others. It's been exciting to be a part of a like-minded blogging community. I feel blessed that I have met so many interesting and wonderful people that I would never have met had I never started this blog.
A little background on me: I graduated in 2006 from San Diego State University with a degree in Interior Design. After graduating from design school, I found that I preferred the drawing side of design as opposed to the rest of it (might have helped in the long run if I'd figured this out while still in school, but, what can you do?) and decided to delve into the world of graphic design. I am mostly self-taught aside from a few continuing education classes I took at a local junior college. Designing makes me happy. I'm glad I found that out later than never.
When I'm not designing, I like running, reading, and spending time with my husband and our two wiener dogs (we call them "dos wieners"). I like rainy days spent inside watching movies and sunny days spent hiking. I like the smell of water on hot concrete and the smell of the earth after it rains. Streamers make me happy and I like sneak-attacking people with random acts of kindness.
You can also read my "always, sometimes, never" list and read "25 random facts about me". I'm around on most of the usual social networking sites (I really have to restrain myself to not sign up for all of them).
