...and I'm off!

 (+)

Hello friends!  Today is an exciting day as J. and I are heading down to San Diego!  He has a work conference to attend, so I decided to tag along.  So, while he's stuck at the Convention Center, I'll be out gallivanting around town.  Boo for him, fun for me!

I went to college at SDSU, so, of course, I have list of a slew of fun places to go and things to do.  I decided to share said list of my top things I like to do, see, and eat when I am in the city.  If you have any other recommendations, feel free to share them in the comments below.

A visit to Extraordinary Desserts is mandatory.

I always enjoy the great prices and delicious rolls at Sushi Deli 2

I was introduced to Con Pane last time I visited town.  Their Turkey Cobb Sandwich is THE BEST!  Totally hooked.

I'm really looking forward to checking out both Mara De Luca's installation and Lærke Lauta's video installation at MCASD downtown.  Best part?  FREE.

We have tickets to a San Diego Padres game on Friday night.  Our night out also coincides with Beer Fest at Padres Staduim.  I can't think of anything more American than that.

I think I'll spend a good chunk of one day at Balboa Park.  They have a day pass that's gains you admission to any 5 museums for $35.  I might have to take advantage of it.  the Natural History Museum is my favorite.

Ken Grill has the best "fusion" fried calamari.

A visit to the Oh, Hello Friend booth at the UCSD Vendor Fair is on the agenda.

I've been told to go check out Wind and Sea Beach in La Jolla.  This is one I have never actually been to.  I'm hoping its sunny this week so I can enjoy some time in the sun with a good book and the sound of the waves.

I might even try and get in a spin class at the Arc (try being the operative word here).

I have to get a slice at Bronx.  Best pizza in town.  Yes, apparently I like to gain back all the calories that I have just worked off.

While I'm at it, I might as well go for a beer at Shakespeare's Pub.  What, you haven't been there?  Go. Now.  (They also have a rockin' blue cheese burger.  Mmmm....)

Annnnd, I have to ride the trolley.  Total dork, I know, but I love it.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to spending time with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousin and soaking up all the city life I can before we head back home.

Want to tag along with me on my little vacation?  Follow @inklingpaper on Twitter, where I'll be posting pics throughout the week!
