and speaking of sparkle...

You've got to check out this gift wrap inspiration over on Grey Likes Weddings today.  I only wish it would have been posted sooner since all my wrapping is done and now I want to re-wrap my gifts using all sparkles!  Bonus:  MaeMae printable gift tags!

P.S.  Grey's gift wrap inspiration last year was fab.  See all the goodness here and here.

today I love...

Holiday 2010 Shop Trade

This season I'm participating in the 2010 Holiday Shop Trade put together by Danni over at Oh, Hello Friend.  Trades are super fun, a great way to do holiday gifting, and a great way to meet new people and discover new shops.  If anyone is up for a trade in the next month or so, just give me a hollar over on Etsy.  I'd love to see what kinds of trades we can get going!  Click here to check out the full list of shops participating in holiday trades on Oh, Hello Friend.

new in the shop!

Finally, right?  The holiday exhibition on Paper-n-Stitch forced me to get my butt in gear and design some new stuff for the holidays (plus a few extras).  You can find me over there through the 15th of December.  I have a little promo going (but you'll have to click through to see it.  Hehe.) and I'll be participating in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales as well.  Let's have a little look-see at the new merch, shall we?

All the items above are available for purchase in my Etsy shop. Thanks for taking a peek!

yes, let's talk about it

I realize what I'm about to say is way too early in the holiday season to be saying it, but let's let this one slide, shall we? I live in a tiny house.  And while I love the idea of decorating for the holidays with a big tree trimmed with lots of ornaments, we simply don't have the space.  So when I saw this lovely vignette from the J. Crew holiday gift guide, a little light bulb went on over my head.  I think a gilded branch suspended over our mantle with a few ornaments will be the perfect solution....so long as it doesn't turn out looking more "Charlie Brown Christmas" than "rustic chic".  Here's hoping.

Last minute Valentines DIY

Here's an easy DIY Valentines project for those who need a little last minute inspiration.  This would actually be a really cute project for any time of year, just change up the design of the cd cover, print, and voila!  Good to go.  I think I might make up one of these for J as he is always craving new music to listen to in the truck.  Check out this project in all of it's crafty goodness (including downloadable templates!) on the Chronicle Books blog.

Etsy's Share Your Love 2010

'Tis the season to get involved (well, really, any season is, but you know...).  With all this love flying around in the air, I thought it would be nice to give some to people who really need a smile, a thought, or just a little (virtual) hug.

So in that spirit, I'll be participating in Etsy's "Share Your Love" program for this Valentines Day.  Etsy admin will be working with Citymeals-on-Wheels to bring nutritious meals, handmade greeting cards and companionship to elderly New Yorkers.  Crafters were asked to donate handmade greeting cards that will be delivered with a meal to the elderly on Valentines Day.  Etsy admin (based in Brooklyn, NY) will be volunteering that day to decorate, serve meals, and spend quality time with their neighbors.

I will be donating handmade Valentines from my shop to this cause...

...AND...

...for each comment I get below, on Facebook, or on Twitter, I will donate another up to 50 cards.

If you'd like to participate on your own, please feel free to do so and check out the Etsy Storque for more details.

Happy (early) Valentines Day!

Valentines Day Cards

I have a few new cards in the shop perfect for giving to your Valentines Day sweetie!  I'm offering these as individual cards, or as a pack of 4.  More to come later in the week, too!

Simple Trimmings

I took a few cues from the Grey Likes Weddings feature on Style Me Pretty and had some fun with the gift wrap this year.  Included in the materials were recycled newsprint, yarn, old sweaters rescued from Goodwill, Trader Joe grocery bags, and lots of paper scraps.  Below are some of the results.

Holiday Cards

Share the mistletoe love and snap up some of these cute holiday cards!  I created these using a hand drawn illustration as well as vector graphics.  The note cards are printed on 80# recycled card stock and paired with kraft envelopes.  I have them in the shop as a set of 6, but as a little bonus, from now until December 25th, I will be including a single one of these babies with every order.  A little holiday magic from me to you.
