HELLO

Oh hello there, I've missed you so.  I hope you've been well.  Where have I been?  Well, I felt like I needed to take a break from blogging and the shop for a while.  My main job is as an interior designer and a graphic designer at an architecture and planning firm.  Last year I changed companies and being my main job, I felt like I needed to commit 110% to this new position (fear of unemployment and the economy being what it is), so my blog and shop were put on the back burner for most of last year.

But.

I've sure missed being here.  I can't tell you how many times during the last year that I've seen things or thought of ideas that I wanted to share here, but just didn't have enough hours in the day (or enough energy at the end of the day) to sit down and write a post about it.

So with this new year comes a renewed energy in this space.  I can't say that I'm going to post every day, or even every other day.  But I will be posting.  I WANT to post.

I've changed a few things around, including a new blog space, a new website, and (coming soon!!) a whole new batch of products for the shop.

If I'm not here, I'm always around the usual places.  Come say hi.  I always love hearing from readers and making new friends.

Giveaway!

I'm doing a little giveaway over on I Art U this week!  I LOVE Jenn's blog, so when she asked if I would be interested in doing a giveaway, I jumped at the chance.  Her blog is one of my "top fives", in that out of the 100 or so blogs that I subscribe to in my Reader, hers is one of the first I read every day. She's also a FABULOUS photographer, so I always look forward to her weekend pics and the portrait shoots she posts.  Hop on over and comment to win a Holiday Essentials Kit, gold and lovely, perfect for wrapping all those gifts this season (and say hi to Jenn while you're at it).  :)

I'm also offering a little shop discount for I Art U readers...but you'll have to click over to I Art U to get the code.

new in the shop!

Finally, right?  The holiday exhibition on Paper-n-Stitch forced me to get my butt in gear and design some new stuff for the holidays (plus a few extras).  You can find me over there through the 15th of December.  I have a little promo going (but you'll have to click through to see it.  Hehe.) and I'll be participating in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales as well.  Let's have a little look-see at the new merch, shall we?

All the items above are available for purchase in my Etsy shop. Thanks for taking a peek!

this made my day

I was catching up on my blog reading this weekend ( I am sooooo behind!) and came across this little snippet (#5) from Margaret over at Paper Pastries.  Considering I am a huge fan of her work (read: stalker), it was such a thrill to read this.  Thanks Margaret, you totally made my day!

(image above: California pencil set via Paper Pastries.  I freaking love these!)

New in the shop!

I have a few new cards in the shop today (I know, finally!).  I've been playing around with more color as of late (as probably evident by my new blog/shop/website headers) and have really been enjoying it!  Cards can be found in the shop in singles and in packs of 6.  Thanks for checking them out, all!

More printable baby shower invitations

I've added a couple more printable baby shower invitations to the shop!  Of all three new shower invites, which one is your favorite?

New in the shop!

Printable baby shower invitations are here!  Spring is here and it's also baby season (or at least it seems like it to me).  What better way to ring in spring than with a fabulous party for mommy and her bun in the oven.  Send these babies out to your favorite girlfriends, mix up some Mock-tails, and shower momma like it's going out of style!

First up, a little "stampede".  Available in the shop, it couldn't be easier to ring in baby!

New in the shop!

I have a few new items slated to hit the shop this week, so I though I'd post them here as I go.  First up, a delightful little set of recipe cards!  These can be found and purchased here in my Etsy shop.  Thanks for checking them out!

New item in the shop!

Forgot to buy a card for that gift you're giving in an hour? Never fear! This digital stationery set is the perfect thing to keep you right on schedule. Just print, cut, and run out the door.

Download once and then print these as many times as you'd like!  You can find these in lots of colors over in my Etsy shop.

Baby Shower Invitations

I entered a little contest last week to design some modern baby shower invitations.  Here are the three designs that I entered.  You also might be seeing these designs around my Etsy shop in a week or so.  Know anyone prego?  Spread the word...baby shower invites are coming soon in the shop!

All designs copyright Inkling Paper.  Please do not use or reproduce without permission.  If you would like to share this image, please include a link back to this post.  Thanks!

Today in the studio:

Ok, I am not actually in the studio today.  BUT.  I did want to share a peek of some wedding stationery I sent off last week.  Stephanie found me over on Etsy and commissioned me to create a DIY version of wedding programs, thank you cards, and place cards all based on my birdie wire design.  She was such a sweetheart to work with and I think everything turned out great!

Happy assembling Stephanie!

{no, your eyes are not deceiving you, those are styrofoam peanuts.  in my defense, i do not ever like using these for packaging, but i had ordered envelopes and the package came filled with these little boogers.  i thought i'd reuse rather then trash 'em.  whew.  glad i got that off my chest.}

New item in the shop!

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome....Burlap Present Topper Kits!

This kit is the perfect way to give your packages some "oomph"! All you need to supply is your own box, and this kit will take care of the rest!

Kit includes:

(1) Ribbon/fabric/paper pouf tied with 15" of hemp twine*
(1) 23"x2" length of light burlap fabric
(1) kraft paper tag strung with creamy cotton twine

*pouf is made of metallic ribbon, cotton fabric, recycled cotton sweater fabric, and recycled newspaper. It is tied with hemp twine and a cream button on top.

To achieve the look above, just wrap the burlap around your package and secure it on the bottom with tape/hot glue/super glue. Using the twine attached to the puof, tie the pouf around your box and secure it to the bottom. Add a handwritten message to your kraft tag and add it to the package. Voila! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Burlap present topper kits are available for purchase in my Etsy shop.
