Twig and Thistle

I saw these invitations that Kathleen posted earlier this morning and couldn't resist sharing them with you today.  As a fellow carnivore and someone with a "meat tooth", I am loving all the subtle butchery details.  For more pictures of the suite and info on materials and printing process, visit Twig and Thistle.

Today I love...

New Orleans letterpress wedding invitations designed by Blackbird Letterpress with calligraphy by Betsy Dunlap.  So, so lovely.  Makes me want to get married all over again just to be able to have invitations like these. (via OSBP)

More printable baby shower invitations

I've added a couple more printable baby shower invitations to the shop!  Of all three new shower invites, which one is your favorite?

New in the shop!

Printable baby shower invitations are here!  Spring is here and it's also baby season (or at least it seems like it to me).  What better way to ring in spring than with a fabulous party for mommy and her bun in the oven.  Send these babies out to your favorite girlfriends, mix up some Mock-tails, and shower momma like it's going out of style!

First up, a little "stampede".  Available in the shop, it couldn't be easier to ring in baby!

Baby Shower Invitations

I entered a little contest last week to design some modern baby shower invitations.  Here are the three designs that I entered.  You also might be seeing these designs around my Etsy shop in a week or so.  Know anyone prego?  Spread the word...baby shower invites are coming soon in the shop!

All designs copyright Inkling Paper.  Please do not use or reproduce without permission.  If you would like to share this image, please include a link back to this post.  Thanks!

Today in the studio:

Ok, I am not actually in the studio today.  BUT.  I did want to share a peek of some wedding stationery I sent off last week.  Stephanie found me over on Etsy and commissioned me to create a DIY version of wedding programs, thank you cards, and place cards all based on my birdie wire design.  She was such a sweetheart to work with and I think everything turned out great!

Happy assembling Stephanie!

{no, your eyes are not deceiving you, those are styrofoam peanuts.  in my defense, i do not ever like using these for packaging, but i had ordered envelopes and the package came filled with these little boogers.  i thought i'd reuse rather then trash 'em.  whew.  glad i got that off my chest.}

Bridal Shower Invitations

d the pleasure of designing some bridal shower invitations for a client (whose wedding invitations I did back in September).  She had come up with the theme "The Perfect Pair" and wanted some invitations to match.  I took the concept and ran with it.  I submitted two versions to her.  Below is the version she chose.

Tonight in the Studio...

Cutting and packaging wedding invitations and reply cards to send out tomorrow!

Bella Blossom

I am excited to post a new invitation suite that I designed and is for sale in my Etsy shop. I'm calling it the Bella Blossom invitation suite! I am loving the organic feel of the floral elements mixed with the clean lines of the text. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Flowers Flowers Everywhere!

Spring is in the air and so is the scent of delicious flowers everywhere I go! I thought it would be fun to honor this "midst-of-spring" weather with a couple new invitation suites!

New Invitations

Well, I finally got the ball rolling again and posted some new invitations on Etsy. Here is a sneak peek!

Love Bird Reply Card

Below is the reply card that I designed to go with the love bird invitations, along with a couple of ideas for coordinating flowers and shoes. Sure to add some fun to the bride's day!

Feathers

I was thinking about wedding invitations and wanted to come up with a new take on feathers, since everyone and their sister is doing peacock feathers now. I wanted to get back to the feeling of a feather and how it moves, its delicacy, its softness. It floats through the air ever so slowly and just when you think it is going to land, a breeze picks it up and it floats off to another destination...

Bulbs!

It is that time of year again; my favorite time for flowers. Two of my most favorite flowers are blooming right now: peony's and ranunculus. Ranunculus are my answer to the rose. Something about them is whimsical, like something you might find near a castle in a land far, far away. Peony's are like the love child between a rose and a feather. They are delicate, yet stout; these look great on their own in a vase or bouquet.

I went by the Home Depot this past weekend and checked out all the packs of bulbs for sale as I was thinking of growing some of my own on my balcony. Just looking at the images on the covers of the packs of bulbs made me feel like spring was in the air, a nice mental break from the frigid weather we have had lately.

I was inspired (in the Home Depot, no less!) and am working on a whimsical set of invitations incorporating these two flowers. Keep an eye out for them coming soon!
